The work of Reading-Berks Habitat for Humanity depends upon the generosity of the Reading-Berks philanthropic community. People of all faiths from churches, synagogues, civic organizations, and local businesses are challenged to provide for housing needs from within the community.
95% of our annual operating budget goes directly into home construction. Only about 2% of this budget comes from the United Way, so direct individual donations are crucial to our success. Because we rely on you, we want to make giving as easy as possible. We gladly accept check and credit card donations, and you can make monthly, quarterly, or one single payment.
We are always in need of vacant building lots and homes in need of moderate rehabilitation. If you are interested in donating real estate, please contact us by phone at (610) 373-3439.
Another popular way to give is through honorariums and memorials. If you have a friend or relative who would prefer to see more homes built for low-income, working families than have another knick-knack on the bookshelf, this is a great way to give two gifts at once. A greeting card acknowledging your gift will be sent to both of you.
Many donors also elect to make a gift of securities or appreciated assets. This type of gift has added tax benefits that are attractive to some. Moreover, people from all walks of life and all income levels have the opportunity to give through their wills and estate plans. This is a simple way to benefit the entire community and make a lasting difference in others' lives.
You may use our PDF donation form to make any of these donations. Send it to us by mail at Reading-Berks Habitat for Humanity, 336 South 18th Street, Reading, PA 19602, ATTN: Donations. If you have questions about making your donation, please contact us by phone at (610) 373-3439.
